Can you put a memory foam, mattresses mattress on a slatted base?

I have a sleigh bed with a wooden frame to clerestory. I need a new mattress and would like one of the memory foam, pocket springs types. Is there a mattress adapted to this kind of framework?

You can use a mattress of any kind with a sleigh bed but no mattress (spring or memory foam) can be placed directly on the boards, no sufficient support. Will to use the mattress / foundation or what purcahse
