What is the memory foam mattress?

I have trouble sleeping at night and think about buying a foam mattress how to be good. Does it help me sleep better at night. Would it be better for my back. I always wake up with back pain and neck pain.

I had one and did not like. Always I was sweating, even when fresh. I have a spine injury and have found a cheap AeroBed is best for me. I had a couple of years and I love it. I adapt to the way my back feels every night. And makes a big difference for me.
